2008 Winter Park Concours d’Elegance

An invitational, judged event celebrating the art of automotive design, the Concours d’Elegance is hosting it’s 6th annual showcase on Sunday, November 02.

Events begin on Saturday, starting with a gourmet breakfast that is followed by a driving tour through and out of town. The route has been designed by a local Porsche club, and the tour will be escorted by the Winter Park Police department. It ends at The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Garden for lunch and the afternoon’s entertainments include a cruise around the lake with the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour. The plans for Saturday evening are the duPont REGISTRY LIVE Aeroport Reception to benefit the Dr P Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center. It will be an evening where the arts meet the art of the Automobile & Cessna Jets: featuring exclusive vehicles, exquisite food, drink, & cigar stations, as well as performances by the Orlando Opera Company, Ballet Performers, and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

For automotive enthusiasts, the Sunday Concours will be the moment they have all been waiting for. Over 200 rare & exotic automobiles and motorcycles will be placed for display and judging on fashionable Park Avenue. The Honor Marques are Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Austin Healey. Other Marques include Mercedes Benz, MG, Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Morgan, Triumph, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus, Volvo, with special exhibits of original Hot Rods, American Muscle Cars, Classic Corvettes, American Classics, Audi, and BMWs. After the judging is completed the award winning cars will be driven into Central Park past the cheering crowds to accept their awards in front of a lavishly appointed stage. Over 60 trophies will be awarded including the very special Best of Show trophy.

Taking place at Park Avenue in Winter Park, the Concours d’Elegance is sponsoring two charities: the Dr P Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center, and the Winter Park Community Center.
