Tropical Storm Fay Flood Car Cleanup: By VehicleSpa Orlando
GOT MOLD??? We can help!
Flood water, mold and mildew removal is one of our signature services at VehicleSpa. We take these jobs very seriously for all of the obvious reasons. If you have experienced any of these problems recently the faster the situation is addressed the better, let us know if you have any questions we would be happy to answer them for you.
- This Mazda had the passenger window left down during tropical storm Fay in Orlando Florida and was brought the VehicleSpa for an Interior Deep Clean
- The car had perforated leather and the 3 days of rain water soaked the seats and saturated the foam cushion
- As you can see the water that soaked the car began to grow mold and mildew
- Mold and mildew growing out of the holes in the leather seats
- The customer tried to soak the water up using an Orlando Sentinal newspaper
- I guess the smaller newspaper did not work.
- The damp atmosphere affected the rest of the vehicles interior
- Here is a shot from the drivers side
- Allen West the shop manager at VehicleSpa begins to remove the seats from the car to gain full access
- To properly remove the mold and mildew the leather seat covers will have to be removed
- The removal of seat cover should ONLY be done by a trained professional
- With the seats removed the entire area can be dried and cleaned
- We begin by laying down a layer of biodegradable mold and mildew killer and wetness absorber
- This helps to dry out the water and kill the mold and mildew
- This is applied all over the vehicles interior
- We allow this to sit on the carpet for a full day
- Shop manager Allen West sprays the Mazda floormats to kill the mold and mildew
- The mats are powerwashed to remove the residue from the eco friendly cleaning product
- Detail manager heat steams and shampoo extracts the back portion of the rear seats and trunk
- Shop manager lifts the passenger side carpet to heat steam and extract before the fans begin to dry the underside of the carpet
- After the interior of the vehicle is properly installed it will spend the rest of the day drying in the hot Florida sun
- With this vehicle the leather interior needed to be conditioned with Lexol leather conditioner.
- Sun and fan drying in a controlled environment is a very important part of the process
Stay tuned for the rest of the pictures.
